Sony will bundle stereoscopic 3D PS3 games with all of its 3D TVs in Europe.

The company made the announcement as it unveiled its 3D TV launch model, the Bravia HX800. It’s set to release this June and will be followed within weeks by additional models.

The TVs are built upon Sony's latest 200Hz high frame rate technology, which enables viewers to view 3D in full high definition.

Timed to coincide with the product launch, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe will release four 3D stereoscopic PS3 game experiences via the PlayStation Network. WipeOut HD (full game), MotorStorm: Pacific Rift (demo), Super Stardust HD (full game) and Pain (3 episodes) will be available as a free collection to purchasers of Bravia 3D TVs.

Sony has said that “a lot” of SCE studios are currently working on 3D games for PS3 and that it’s "very optimistic" about the technology’s prospects. A firmware update will allow PS3 to run 3D games and movies.

The company is also readying a range of 3D Blu-ray players and home cinema systems, and will bundle 3D Blu-ray films including Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs and Deep Sea with select TV offerings.

No pricing details for the TVs or the 3D glasses required to watch them were revealed, but Sony said the technology will be “affordable”.

Sony and FIFA said recently that they will be filming and broadcasting 25 FIFA World Cup matches in 3D.
