NBA FINALS PICKS AND PREDICTIONS: HEAT VS LAKERS GAME 5

 covers.com

The Miami Heat got Bam Adebayo back for Game 4, but were unable to come away with the win in a tight contest. Can they get a victory in Friday's Game 5 and extend the series?

The Miami Heat finally have one of their injured stars back – but it might be too late for them to defy NBA odds and rally for an NBA championship.

The Heat are down 3-1 in the NBA Finals entering Friday's Game 5 against the powerhouse Los Angeles Lakers, who moved to the cusp of capturing their 17th NBA title with a 102-96 victory in Game 4.

That game featured the return of Miami center Bam Adebayo from a neck strain, but it's unlikely he'll be joined Friday by point guard Goran Dragic, who has missed the past three games after suffering a torn plantar fascia in his left foot in Game 1.

These are our favorite NBA free picks and predictions for Heat vs. Lakers on October 9.

AGAINST THE SPREAD (ATS) PICK

The Lakers come into their first shot at an NBA title as seven-point favorites, slightly lower than the -7.5 spread they had in Game 4. But the Heat have shown the past two games that they can be quite competitive, winning their only game of the series Sunday and keeping things interesting until the stretch run on Tuesday.

And even without Dragic, who will likely miss Friday's game (though he might test out the injury prior to the game), the Heat are much more well-prepared to handle the Lakers with Adebayo back in the fold. Adebayo had 15 points in 33 minutes and was one of only three Miami players with a positive plus-minus – and you can expect him to see all the minutes he can handle Friday.

This might be the end of a wild 2019-20 basketball season, but not without another cover-worthy effort from the underdogs.

PREDICTION: Miami +7 (-110)

OVER/UNDER PICK

After bettors watched Game 3 fall a half-point shy of the total, the Game 4 result was much more decisive as the teams combined for a series-low 198 points – 20 below the final number.

The defensive intensity has ratcheted up as you might expect, with neither team surpassing 45 percent shooting from the floor Tuesday. And the game pace slowed to a relative crawl, with both teams finishing with fewer than 80 shot attempts. Expect more of that greater commitment to defense, especially with Adebayo back to help keep Lakers superstar Anthony Davis in check.

Oddsmakers have lowered the Game 5 total to the mid-210s, but that still doesn't feel low enough.

PREDICTION: Under 216 (-110)

PLAYER PROP PICK

If this series continues (and even possibly goes seven games), it will be hard to ignore Jimmy Butler as the NBA Finals MVP whether the Heat win or lose. Butler has single-handedly willed Miami through the past three games, averaging 29.0 points. 9.7 rebounds and 11.7 assists while playing all but 11 minutes.

That assist average is the focus here: With Dragic expected to be out yet again, Butler's usage rate will once again be off the charts. He'll be the team's primary ball-handler and shouldn't have any trouble surpassing his assist total in a game the Heat need to win in order to stay alive.

PREDICTION: Jimmy Butler Over 7.5 Assists (-140)

Kanye West Announces He's Running for President This Year

yahoo.com

Kanye West marked the Fourth of July with a major announcement: He's officially running for U.S. president in 2020.
The 43-year-old shared the news via Twitter on Saturday night, writing: "We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States ... #2020VISION."
West has been teasing his presidential campaign for the past several years, originally saying he intended to run in 2024.
"One of my main things [I'll address] once I’m president is the medical industry," he said in a 2018 interview with Power 92.3's DJ Pharris. "I’m going to make sure that the medical industry flourishes. There’s one thing I learned by hanging around with Jay-Z, and being married to my wife, is you can’t fuck up the paper.. That's the problem with a lot of the radical leaders in the past."
West's decision to enter the 2020 race means he'll have to compete with his so-called "brother" Donald Trump. 'Ye has received plenty of backlash for his well=documented support of the incumbent president, even going so far as to don Trump's divisive MAGA hat. He told GQ earlier this year that he planned to vote for Trump in the upcoming election, as he refused to let cancel culture dictate his politics.
"We know who I’m voting on. And I’m not going to be told by the people around me and the people that have their agenda that my career is going to be over," he said. "Because guess what: I’m still here! Jesus Is King was No. 1! I was told my career would end if I wasn’t with her (Hillary Clinton). What kind of campaign is that, anyway? That’s like if Obama’s campaign was 'I’m with black.' What’s the point of being a celebrity if you can’t have an opinion? Everybody make their own opinion! You know?"
Assuming Kanye is serious, he'll have to work hard and swiftly to secure the presidency. He's already missed the filing deadline in a number of states, which means he'd likely have to run as a write-in candidate.

Super Bowl 2020: Date, Location, Ticket Price Costs for 49ers vs. Chiefs

KRISTOPHER KNOX

In a little over a week, the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs
will do battle in Super Bowl LIV. The game promises to be an intriguing one, with a clash of styles highlighting the storylines.
The Chiefs will look to ride wunderkind quarterback Patrick Mahomes, their high-flying passing attack and a heavy pass rush to victory. The 49ers, meanwhile, will try to smother Mahomes with a ferocious pass rush while racking up yards and points with a creative rushing attack.
Even for the casual NFL fan, this game should be tons of fun.
However, this game also carries a lot of intrigue because of the teams involved. Kansas City and San Francisco are two storied franchises and fitting combatants for the title in the league's 100th season.

Super Bowl LIV
When: Sunday, February 2, at 6:30 p.m. ET
Where: Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida
TV and Live Stream: Fox, Fox Sports Go
Line, O/U (from Caesars): KC -1.5, 54.5

As one might expect, Super Bowl LIV is a popular ticket.
The Chiefs haven't been to the Super Bowl since the 1969 season. They won Super Bowl IV, becoming just the third team to win the big game and the second AFL franchise to do so.
Now, 50 years later, Kansas City's return to the big game has fans like Grammy-winner and Chiefs superfan Melissa Etheridge literally singing with joy:
The 49ers were in the Super Bowl far more recently—against the Baltimore Ravens after the 2012 season—but they haven't lifted the Lombardi Trophy since Steve Young did so back in 1995. That's a long drought for one of the league's most decorated franchises.
Naturally, interest among 49ers and Chiefs fans in attending the game is high. The fact that it will be played in Miami doesn't hurt fan interest, either. A trip to South Beach is a fine way to spend part of early February.
All of this means, of course, that tickets to Super Bowl LIV are not going to come cheaply. According to TicketIQ, the low ticket price is up considerably from the past four Super Bowls—at least at this point in the pre-game timeline.
At the time of writing, the lowest ticket price listed on StubHub was $3,655.
On the high end, StubHub has tickets listed in excess of $16,000. As one would expect, those are club seats or seats near the 50-yard line. The low prices are for seats in the upper deck and almost exclusively in the corners.
